Western Digital - wdtv, western digital

This is a fantastic product.

Only two simple things need to be done after you have plugged everything in.

Read the manual provided online. It is very informative and explains everything in detail.

Download WD Discovery. Link for it is provided in the online manual.

You can then map the hub as a hard drive and it'll function just like any other hard drive you might have used.

Just drag any content you want into it and you are done.

My dad who isn't technologically savvy has started using it as well which tells you a lot.

It really is that simple to use. Western Digital WD TV Live Hub 1 TB Media Center

This thing does what it suppose to do in addition having 1TB HD it's a big plus. I can honestly say this is the best $200 that I've spent in a long time. It plays every possible movie format that I have and that's the main reason I bought it. Couple of things that I'm not really thrilled about (that's why I'm giving 4 stars)...first no built-in WI-FI, you have to get one of those USB Wi-Fi adapters..... and the second online content is very limited but I hope this will change with future firmware update

Set up was easy (I used a wired connection because it was convenient for me and the WIFI is not integrated). It connects as a NAS, but the copy speed was painstakingly slow. In the end it is much faster to use the USB connection to copy in your media files.

The main menus are easy enough to use, the setup was not complex, but it took several tries to get the media library compiled. I had to clear it and re-compile it several times before it found everything. Sorting and categorizing is ok, but weak, allows no cover art (don't think iTunes-like here...), no descriptions.

The remote is adequate but is missing a few things users take for granted, notably no slow-motion (forward or back), and video control is very imprecise. The remote control buttons are confusingly placed and make it awkward in a dimly lit room. Using the on-screen keyboard with the remote is not at all a positive experience.

It has an automatic firmware update feature, but the WD Support site is full of horror stories of firmware updates that totally or partially disable the unit. Note that their site is also full of complaints about their generally unresponsive support. Not a good thing.

I do like it for streaming and watching NetFlix but that's available on my TV and DVD player as well (again, the remote is awkward here, sometimes unresponsive too). The YouTube interface is not so easy to use (the remote...), but Pandora is just fine.

I bought this and am very happy with the "playing movies" off the internal harddrive part of it. The interface is good and pretty easy to get around. The whole box is amazingly small and quiet.

The only issue I've had the last couple days is getting it to see the internet and my computer through the router...and I'm running a cable to the router-I'm not wireless.

I could plug the WD straight into my modem and get netflix fine but when it went through my brand new netgear wpn824N-100NAS router, I couldnt get on or network with my computer. I've tried everything, read every troubleshooting forum on the web...but no joy. The router works for my computer...I get the internet on it just fine, but not on the Live Hub.

Called WD today. after an hour of resetting router, resetting Live Hub, going through networking on my computer--all of which I'd tried already, he finally asked me what router I used. Then said it wasnt compatible with the Live Hub. I'm sort of questioning if it's just an excuse, but going to try a different router tomorrow. Most on the list he sent were actually difficult to find at a bestbuy.

I caution everyone to make sure they have a approved router before attempting this. very frustrating to spend days trying to figure it out.

***UPDATE***after being told by WD that my router wasn't compatible and being told by NetGear that the HUB was at fault...I went and bought a E2000 lynksis router instead. Set it up, plugged Live Hub into router, clicked on Network Setup...Boom! computer see's the hub, Hub see's the internet and Netflix streams flawlessly! After two weeks of heavy frustration, I really enjoy the Live HUB.

I have an external USB hard drive loaded with media: many years of Photos, Music and Movies. I was excited to learn I could now enjoy them on my HD TV rather than just my PC. I was not interested as much in Internet connectivity, as I also have a ROKU internet media player. Despite all the hype in the reviews, I was quite disappointed by WD TV Live Hub.

My review is for media on my portable hard drive, attached via the USB port. I did not transfer the files to the hard drive built-in WD TV Live Hub. They appeared as "Local USB" instead of "Local Internal". I downloaded the latest firmware before starting my evaluation. I used an HDMI cable to connect to the TV, and configured the box for HD 1080p.

WD TV Live Hub took 30+ minutes to compile all the media content on my portable drive. This is a one time deal and thus not a big issue. But do not expect to attach stored media and play it immediately.

My biggest disappointment was the low quality rendering my photos on the HD TV.

My photos are sharp, high resolution jpegs, 4K*3K pixels, compressed to about 4 MB. When streamed via WD TV Live, they look as poor as the 0.5 MB sample pictures provided in the box. My 55-in Samsung HD TV, which has a USB port, renders them much better than did WD TV Live hub. For example, I could not read car license plates when rendered with WD TV Live Hub while they were clearly readable using the Samsung TV built-in USB port. WD TV Live Hub does not do a very good job downscaling a 4MB jpeg image, and it takes 17+ seconds to do it (time to display the next image). Using 12 bit rather then default 8 bit color depth made no difference.

The video quality of playing stored movies was acceptable. Maybe because image sharpness is less critical when you have motion. And I do not have blue ray discs to compare. I only tried to play VOB/ISO movies. One nice feature is that WD TV Live supports the original menu system, but there is not such thing as a "Menu" button on the remote.

Search has been a touted as a feature of this device. WD TV Live Hub lets you search for movies stored based on title words, director and primary actors. Unfortunately it does not work. First it is cumbersome to key-in the letters with the UI. What was most frustrating, however, is that in my 15 attempts and just using the 1st word in the title, search succeeded only once. And even then, it found only the 2nd of three movies whose title started with the same word. The movies where all there, scrolling down the folders, but were not found using 'Search'. This is totally unacceptable.

For songs, the UI is quite primitive as well. I am used to iTunes and Window Media 9 interfaces, and WD TV Live hub is a long way from that.

Media players are evolving and improving. WD TV Live Hub claims to be 4th generation. I found it is not yet suitable for my particular needs. - Western Digital - Streaming - Wd Tv - Wdtv'

Vizio - led, 32 inch

Picked this up at Cosco's for a total of $463.00 and can not believe the value! The Vizio M320VT LED LCD HDTV really exceeded my expectations. I have no opinion regarding the audio capabilities of this TV as it's being run silent (audio taken care of in 7.1). The picture however is fantastic- VIZIO M320VT 32-Inch 1080p LED LCD HDTV with Razor LED Backlighting, Black

This TV is better than I expected. Not only is it easy to set up and hook up to your home theater, but the image is super crisp. It took me a whole 5 minutes to set it up. Plus it has many features that make this item an even better purchase. (Just read the description.). I'm happy!

Got this as my main Christmas present and frankly, the performance was exceptional straight out of the box. I'm using HDMI cables with all my stuff, so that may contribute to the wonderful display, but even on its own, this device has done nothing but impress me. Set up was very simple, taking less than 6 minutes to get it all set up on my dresser. The colors are vivid and the lines are clear and the remote that came with it really adds to the experience. Living in a college dorm, space is a significant constraint, but not with Vizio. Thanks to their super-thin screen, I was able to fit in on top of my dresser, getting around the other clutter that had made the space previously unusable. By far, the best Christmas present I have ever gotten, I plan to have many more happy years with this TV in college and beyond.

Let me start out by saying thia is an awesome TV. I bought 2 at Costco for $399 each. The box, manual and Vizio support says 100000:1 Dynamic Contrast ratio not the 50000:1 listed. The picture is super nice. I would reccomend this TV to anyone looking to buy.

Being very much a Sony person when it comes to electronics, it was difficult for me to move to the Vizio brand. What moved me was the amazing picture quality that this set provides and the recommendation of family members.

It was easy to set up, just plug and play. I found that the ambient light sensor did not work well in that each time the scene changed, the TV would almost flicker for a second. I turned that off and it was great. It has a few factory settings you can choose from, I like the "movie" setting which seems to have the best mix of lights, dark's, and contarst. The quality of the picture almost exceeds my Sony with a Bravia 3 engine.

I had to fiddle with the sound settings quite a bit before I found a setting that pleased my ears. I'm still not too thrilled about the quality of the sound, but for a bedroom TV, it's adequate. Also turned off the SRS True Volume as that seemed to make the sound change with each scene change.

All in all if you would like an amazing picture with adequate sound with HD 1080 for under $450, this would be a set to consider.

This TV is amazing for the price the picture is absolutely gorgeous and the ease of use is phenomenal. Just hook up and go.But the sound quality is really poor. It's loud don't get me wrong but with everything I play or watch it tends to bring out the background noises and drowns out the voices of the characters.

PROS**

Great picture

Great price

Easy to use and set up

Really light and thin

CONS**

Really poor sound

Not as many outputs as i would've likes

Note** I recommend getting the model VSB200 sound bar for this television because it has the fiber optic input you need for it to work. STAY AWAY from the model VSB205, it wont work with this television.

I am pleased with my purchase. I consider this television a very good value for money. The item was delivered on time and shipped to Jamaica within one week of my order being placed. The installation was easy and I have no problem so far.

I bought this TV because a friend of mine had the 23" version and it was beautiful (and i bought from him). So I decided to buy this one. I guess I didnt hook at the Hz because I didnt think they would go through all the trouble to make a 60Hz LED TV. Wrong. I have another less expensive Vizio that shows 3000 times better. The sounds sucks and not very clear. The menus are as simple as they should be and you to to go to too many places to get from one thing to another. The picture is ok, but no where near that of the 23" version. I would throw this away before I sell it or give it to someone. I gave it 3 stars because it's a Vizio and i like them as a brand. But this tv is just a TV and lacking a lot of features that should be standard on any new TV.

I bought this TV for my 9 year old grandson. The graphics on this are so clear when he plays his xbox. The TV is so thin and light weight. We are so happy with everything about it. I'm so happy I went with the led lcd 1080 32 inch hdtv. - Led - 32 Inch 1080p - Hdtv - 32 Inch'

Stereo Headphones - headphones, cordless headphones

This is our second set of these headphones and we have been very happy with the quality. At this price we expected some minor "issues" but they have performed well. My husband has hearing loss as does a friend. The two guys each put on a set of the headphones and they run off a single base (you can't charge while using headphones though!). When you first turn them on ... you hear hiss but once you have sound coming through it disappears. These have very good range as well. I have a split level home and we can go up a set of stairs and to the opposite far end of the house (even behind a closed door) and the sound comes through! They hold a charge very nicely but when they go ... they go with a pop and that is it. I love to use them late at night to watch our big screen without bothering those sleeping in the house. RCA WHP141 900MHZ Wireless Stereo Headphones

The quality of the stereo signal is excellent. However, depending on the input source, you must sometimes make sure that you have the sound source set to a VERY HIGH volume (or the "hiss" that others have mentioned will be more pronounced).

The "hiss" that is experienced with this headset can be described as a kind of windy sound that's added to the transmitted sound. It kind of sits far in the background of all other sounds. It doesn't distort the signal, it's just very distracting at times. It's an indication that the input signal isn't at high enough of a volume.

An example of input sources;

Connecting to my PC required me to adjust the PC sound output to a VERY high level.

Connecting directly to the RCA outputs on my DVD player delivered excellent sound.

I also purchased the Acoustic Research AW722 headphones as a comparison. There is less of an issue with "hiss" with the AW722, but the RCA headphones are more comfortable AND in my opinion deliver more of a FULL stereo sound (when configured correctly). Also, the AW722 has the WORST battery recharging method I have ever seen (induction). They stopped recharging properly within one day of owning them, meaning that you will have to resort to charging the batteries using an external charger.

An interesting note; The AW722 headphones (Acoustic Research) will work with the RCA transmitter (because the headphones can be manually tuned). Tuning the AR headphones to the RCA transmitter did not exhibit ANY hiss, which leads me to believe that the "hiss" on the RCA headphones is caused by the receiver in the headset. If you already own the AR headphones, you might find it usefull to know that you can still use them with the RCA transmitter (at the same time as the RCA headset if you wish).

There are certainly better wireless headphones out there, but if you get a good price on these (in the $10-$20 range), you'll probably find them to be fairly decent.

JM

In reading the reviews, I'm thinking some people do not understand how to use them correctly. When I set mine up, you have to have the sound input set very high. This will cut down on the hiss you hear considerably. Also, there is a power saving feature that will cut off the connection when no sound is being inputted into the base station. This is by design, and takes a little getting used to. Once I understood all this, I discovered they work really well.

The only thing I do not like is when the unit is in power save mode, and the headphones are on, you will hear a pop type hiss every so often. This is caused by the units attempting to make a connection though the base is in power saving mode. No biggy, but it is something that could have been better engineered. I have a different brand of wireless headphones that do not do this, but they do not have the power save feature.

I typically hate writing Amazon reviews, but I'll make an exception here.

First, to be fair, the sound quality and comfort is pretty good. There is minimal/no hiss if you know how to set up a sound output device properly (higher input sound, then use the potentiometer on the headphones to adjust the volume), which is not apparent unless you've played around with stuff like this before. Second, the person who complained about not getting the battery compartment open is functionally retarded; you twist in the same direction as the arrow that says "Open."

Anyway, here's why this goes 2 stars:

1. The headphones I received were clearly refurbished. This was evident by the minor scratches around the earpieces. Not really a big deal to me most of the time, but this should be explicitly and honestly advertised. Also, the typos in the tech. details should be fixed on this page.

2. Occasionally, the popping is infuriating. At short or long range, during DVDs or streamed content, at high or low volume, you will get brutally awful popping (at least I do). I suspect that this is the result of intermittent connection drop outs, and it's been really random so far. Sometimes it'll happen five times in a minute, other times it'll happen once an hour. This pushed me to the brink of returning them, but some improvement, the fact that I only use them when people are sleeping, and the general annoyance of returning online purchases made me stick with them. - Rca - Audio - Cordless Headphones - Headphones'

Portable Radio - cd player, mp3 player

Terms

S2 = Sony ZS-XN30 Multi-Codec S2 Sports CD/Tuner Boombox (White)

H10 = Sony ZS-H10CP Heavy Duty CD Radio Boombox

Background: I bought the H10 to replace a defunct S2. I use three S2s and one H10 daily (and simultaneously) at a swimming pool, so I compare them daily.

My biggest surprise is that, contrary to what the specs imply, the H10 sounds twice as loud as the S2. Perhaps this is due in large part to the H10's significantly better base: there is noticeably more of it, and it is very clean (has low distortion). I play the S2 with the Mega Bass button on, yet the H10 bass is so pronounced and clean that I leave the its Mega Bass off. "Specs imply" means that the specifications state that the H10 = 2.3 watts per speaker vs 2.0 watts for the S2.

The H10 is significantly easier to use than the S2: The S2's up-down Volume buttons have been replaced with a large dial, the S2's jog control whose operation baffled water aerobic instructors has been replaced with clearly marked buttons, and that aggravating push-to-open CD cover has been replaced with a cover that has a hinge lock. And since the CD cover of two of my three S2's is nonfunctional, my guess is that this new hinge-lock cover will be more durable.

On the H10 but not on the S2 are: Line-in (for tape players and ipods), and a storage compartment. The latter is large enough both for both the H10's wall plug and a line-in jack (not provided).

The H10 is noticeably heavier than the S2, about the same width and depth, and twice the S2's heigth. Also, the black-red motif is much more in-your-face than the subtle white of the S2.

8/17/06 Update: At least twice the controls have locked up; that is, the controls have acted as if a "Hold" switch was turned on, except the H2 has no such switch. Both times removing the batteries solved the problem. I deduce that this is caused by some combination of relatively uncommon button-pushing.

7/27/09 Update: Absolutely no lockup since the Summer of '06.

In summary, the H10 both sounds better and is significantly easier to operate than the S2.

10/16/06 Update: I've started adapting to limited floorspace by playing the H10 on its side; note that it is designed to be able to do so.

11/7/06 Update: The H10 sounds so much better than the S2 that I replaced all three S2s with H10s.

7/27/09 Update:

1. To get maximum performance at maximum volume, plug the H10 in, to either a wall socket or an external battery, like the Duracell Powersource Mobile 100.

2. Lasts longer poolside than any other boombox I know of: Most boomboxes last about 6 months poolside; in contrast, the two H10's lasted for more than two years of daily (Monday through Friday) use; then their CD players stopped working at about the same time. Sony ZSH10CP Heavy Duty CD Radio Boombox

A quick caveat before I review. As of 5/12/2006 the Sony site (and Sears, too) still says this boombox takes 'C' batteries. It doesn't, it takes 'D' size, though a quantity of 6 is correct. I can't see that Amazon has included battery info. one way or the other.

This is truly an Industrial Strength boombox - extremely rugged. I bought one for my handicapped daughter, who needs almost constant music to keep her happy, but has been pretty rough on past boomboxes. This one ought to last.

It is significantly larger than the average portable boombox, so pay attention to the dimensions and weight to see if it's a fit for you.

The only weak spot is the antenna, which my daughter managed to break the first day. Be careful how you restore it to its telescoped slot. We can't find a replacement antenna yet.

Also, it lists on the Sony site and at Sears for $129.99, so I don't know where this site got a list price of $179.99.

I searched high and low for a product like this and seriously, this was the only one that had it all ... plays regular and mp3 CDs, AM/FM radio, line-in for any external player from laptops to mp3 players, no useless cassette player to get in the way and most importantly, it has GREAT sound; plenty of volume and bass response. Yes, it's heavy duty. It is rugged enough to take along to the work site, keep in the garage, take camping, you name it; it has sealed compartments and speaker guards to protect from dust or hits; it has a sturdy handle built into a protective frame; it has a small enough footprint to sit on most standard shelves ... also, it has a smarter, simpler look that I appreciate; it doesn't look like some sci-fi robot or a work of abstract art ... it is surprisingly light since the power supply is contained with the AC adapter (some might find it a negative to have to lug around a heavier, bulky AC adapter, but it depends on your perspective). The unit also contains a storage compartment for line-in cords, head phones or mp3 players. Like I said, it is hard to find any other product that completely rivals this unit in it's price range. Highly recommended if you need a rugged player with great sound, mp3 capabilities and line-in feature. I am really enjoying mine.

I really expected to like this boombox, but I was disappointed almost immediately, because the radio tuning isn't selective.

In other words, even when you're listening to strong stations, you can hear other stations "bleeding over" into the one you're tuned to. It's like a ghost station in the background. It's not horrible, but it messes with the sound.

For example, when listening to a rock station, I could hear faint talk-radio. On talk-radio, I could hear faint music. On a classics station, commercials from nearby stations were *really* noticable when they came on.

There was actually another problem with my particular sample, which is that it arrived with a faulty display (didn't have all the segments working in the rightmost character/number), but I could have lived with that.

The sound quality might be pretty good for CD's, MP3's and other clean sources, but I bought this specifically for the radio, and that part stinks (both AM and FM were plagued with this problem). There is simply no excuse for poor selectivity in a $140 radio. No speakers sound good playing two radio stations at the same time.

Other disappointments were the lack of a simple, conventional cord (it comes with a transformer), and a significantly cheaper feel than I expected. But the lack of clean, clear radio reception makes this a no-buy recommendation from me. - Mp3 Player - Boom Box - Cd Player - Portable Radio'

Hp C6180 Photo Printer - hp, ink

I have confirmed through HP's web site that the ink levels in the 02 combo pack contain the same amount of ink as if you purchased a single 02 color cartrige. Beware though, the value pack that comes with photo paper does not contain the same ink amounts and is therefore a rip-off. I believe the ink cartriges in the value pack are similar to the new ones you receive with a new printer. There are almost always partially filled cartriges supplied with new printers. Original HP 02 Ink Cartridges Combo-Pack (5 Color Cartridges) in Retail Packaging

HP 02 Inkjet Print Cartridge Color Combo Pack CC604FN#140

Most retailers including Amazon sell the Combo Pack which includes only Five 5 color cartridge. My local Sam s Club sells a Combo VALUE pack which also includes the black cartridge six cartridges . The cost is $57. Amazon please provide this option also.

Also, the HP printer that use the 02 cartridges give the message that ink level is low and cartridge MUST be replaced". Don t be fooled. Many more pages can be printed before there is a need to replace the cartridge.

Many have been disappointed to find that HP has some packages with a smaller capacity ink cartridge and therefore not the value originally thought.

This ad does not detail the ink in a cartridge capacity; check with the HP site to determine product specifications and compare with the capacity of buying an individual color cartridge versus the group package. Caution advised. (And seller including capacity of each cartridge) Note that black cartridge (usually larger) and color cartridges vary in capacity.

Good product but be very, very careful that you buy the five cartridge combo pack that does not include black. That is the one with the most ink in each cartridge. The combo pack that is sold as a photo combo, includes the black cartridge and 150 sheets of 4x6 photo paper has a lot less ink in them. I finally even spoke with a person at HP that confirmed it. I had to get a person in sales (USA) that could confirm it. Technical support and customer service online live chat (not USA) had no clue. The five cartridge combo box shows the volume of each color like the individual cartridges. The photo combo doesn't list the individual volumes only that it is enough to print 150 photos.

Buyer beware ...

HP printers have always been the most convenient for me. We currently have a C6180 wireless printer and it works great, I just cannot believe how much ink we go through. Our old printer used 56 and 57 inks and we had to replace them much less frequently. These smaller color ink cartridges are a rip of in my opinion, they simply don't last long enough for the price.

The ink cartridges I received are clearly remanufactured ink cartridges. The product was NOT in factory sealed packaging, as the product listing states. And it did NOT come in the package that is presented in the picture. Furthermore, the cartridge plastic casing has clearly been glued shut with some kind of glue gun as there is excess glue everywhere. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT from this seller!!!

HP has the best value for a multi ink cartdridge home use series. Lowest cost per page, easiest replacement, and most efficient. Notice the two holes in the cartridges, it recycles most of the ink from printer Maintenance, and cleaning and what not. You will find that yellow usually runs out the quickest, becuase if you are printing photos yellow is used the most for skin tones and sky backgrounds and many nature scenes. Don't be fooled by the photo value pack, this package is the way to go. The photo value pack is a set of "custom" cartridges meant to do the 150 sheets of included 4x6 paper. On average a standalone cartridge or one from this value pack does about 240 4x6 photos.

I purchased this product, after reading it's description I believed it was an HP product but when it arrived I received some generic brand. I don't know how good they are or how long they will last but I am disappointed.

Not much to say. They print vivid, they haven't clogged, it was cheaper than buying them individually, and I didn't have to leave the house.

In regards to a previous reviewer, this pack does come with 100% filled cartridges. Perhaps it is the ink/paper combo pack that shortchanges you. Though, I should have read the description of this pack better. This combo pack does NOT come with Black Ink. Bad HP! -1 star for you. - All-in-one - Inkjet - Hp - Ink'

Power Tools - stapler, nailer

[UPDATE 7-31-09: Still working nicely after more than a year. Used very frequently. Just recently overboarded a paneled room with beadboard. Shot over 3000 staples with only two or three misfires on the whole job. No jams. This is a great stapler!]

[UPDATE 8-8-08: I don't see how you can go wrong with this one. Only $30 and works like a charm. As good as staplers 3 times the price!]

This is my second Grizzly stapler. The other one is the H7677. The 7677 is good but this one is better. The H7678 seems to have a little more oomph than the 7677. It also has a depth adjustment which is nice. It is light weight and is easier to load than the 7677. Overall a little higher quality.

The H7678 does not support bump mode stapling but that is not necessarily a bad thing. With no bump mode there is less chance of accidentally stapling your leg, (or worse). Plus my 7677 is getting it's bump mode switch repaired at Grizzly. So not having a bump mode switch is another thing that can't break. (The repair on my 7677 was covered under warranty and Grizzly has a great support office.)

Grizzly tools are not flashy. You might even say they are ugly. None of the functioning parts are covered by decorative plastic, and the industrial green paint is, well, ugly. However Grizzly tools work. They do exactly what they are designed to do. So if you are looking for a good basic stapler that will work just as well as prettier units costing twice as much, I think the H7678 is a great choice. I highly recommend the H7678. Grizzly H7678 18 Gauge Deep Stapler Kit

I recently installed a wood shadowbox style fence in my backyard. Since this was a one-man DIY project my plan was to attach the fence pickets to a top and bottom support rail with 1.5 inch stainless steel staples, then staple on a top and bottom trim piece to mirror the support rail on the opposite side (so the fence appears the same on both sides) and then use just a few screws in each corner and middle to sandwich the completed panel together. The idea was to save time and money by using staples wherever possible and fewer screws but still end up with a sturdy fence.

I own several Porter Cable air tools, but the PC stapler I own only accommodates narrow crown staples not exceeding 1" in length. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend $85-$100 on a new Porter stapler that would handle the 1.5" long staples so I figured I'd try the Grizzly Deep Stapler Kit. The gun could not have performed any better. It was perfect. I fired just under 2,500 staples in this fence WITHOUT a single jam or misfire. Each staple sank with the same consistency and seemed to bite really well - so well that I almost reconsidered the need to use screws anywhere on the completed fence (I did as originally planned). As a bonus the gun even came with a storage case (although it seems pretty flimsy - but my Porter stapler came with nothing so the case is better than that) and a set of protective goggles.

For $31 (including shipping charges) you can't go wrong with the Grizzly!

I am highly disappointed in this gun.It misfired right out of the box. I've never owned a Grizzly item before and I am sure this will be my only one unless someone can convinced me otherwise. I had 45 sheets of beadboard to put up and I almost have to fire it twice on every hit. Not good!

this is one fine stapler never miss fired in over five thousand staples. at the incredible price of 39.00 brand new, an excellent value. great for cabinet work , molding ,trim, even shingles (cedar 1/2 round). replaces a brad nailer in a number cases. Only draw back is the storage case it could be larger to store extra staples. its a home run otherwise - Nailer - Pneumatic Stapler - Stapler - Power Tools'

Cordless String Trimmer - black and decker, rechargeable batteries

DO NOT BUY THE OTHER CHARGERS FOR B&D BATTS. There is a reason why this triple charger rocks and the others are garbage. This is a SLOW charger. makes batteries last forver. THis has a transformer in it that converts the electricty into a trickle charge. ALL portable batt's r super expensive, and they create ultra fast direct chargers for them which ruins the batteries within 18 mo. They know this. But to their credit, B&D made a trickle charger so u don't hv buy batt's every year. I hv had a set of 3 batt's that i hv bn using since - no joke, 2005, andf i'd say they r still about 65% effectiv. That's over 5 yrs peeps. Even the dual charger they sell is a rapid charger. Dno't be fooled becaue the dual charger looks like it has a transformer in it. It doesn't. And of course the tiny little single chargers don't either - u can tell when you pick them up, they weight about 20 grams. This triple charger weighs about 10 lbs! Black & Decker RE18V3PRT 18 Volt NiCad 3-Port Battery Charger

I love my 3 port charger. Because it is only a semi-intelligent charger, I do have need for a smarter/quicker charger too. (This is used to determine if the battery is faulty before placing it in the charger. A bad battery can kill your chargers) But, this charger allows you to keep 3 batteries charging at all times. Therefore, no need to remove them from the ports after they are charged. =)

This is a difficult part to find without the entire kit, therefore, I was extremely grateful to see this one for sale on Amazon.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone with the 18v Black & Decker lawn equipment.

hang'em on the wall and thats it. I have one in the garage and one in the shop. Power at your finger tips for all the drills, dustbuster, power hand saw and 5 3/8's circular saw in the shop ahd then in garage are all those tools to maintain the yard and pool. It doesn't get any better then this being fully supplied with the firestorm products by black and decker.

This is a well designed and well constructed product. I have three batteries and it is convenient to have all of them ready to use at any time without having three plug-in chargers in the wall. The unit mounts on the wall for even better convenience. Black and Decker home products have not been my favorite for many years. Many of their products have been poorly designed but not this one. I have been slowly buying the entire line of 18-volt FireStorm tools and have been very pleased thus far. - Cordless Lawn Tools - Black And Decker - Chainsaw - Rechargeable Batteries'

Alarm Clock Radio Telephone - alarm clock telephone, telephone-alarm

Like one other reviewer I hesitated to order this because of the one person who said they got the wrong product. First of all, that did not happen to us. The product arrived quickly after it was ordered, and it was exactly as pictured. It is hard to find these "all in one" phone/radio/alarm clocks and we were thrilled to find this one. The best feature is being able to read the clock numbers from pretty much any place in the room or lying in the bed, and you can adjust the brightness (either high or low.) The two alarms are great, the radio reception is really good too. The settings are easy to understand and use (we don't have caller ID so that part we don't use.) The phone itself takes a little getting used to, but the sound is good when using it. One great feature is that you can buy a longer phone cord and easily replace the short one that it came with it should this be your preference. The ringer settings are nice, the low one being good in a bedroom. Overall if you are searching for this type of combination product I would say this is a superb choice. GE 29298FE1 Corded Bedroom Phone with CID/Radio/Alarm Clock (Black)

This is the 'bar bones' but it does the trick. I was disappointed because I was looking for a speaker phone.....and this does not have one even though the specs said it did. It is adequate, I am able to tune in a variety of stations. It does not have set buttons, you have to manually tune in the station each time you change. It is compact and very square looking, but it does have a radio, corded phone and alarm clock.

This is a great phone for the price. The only 2 down falls I see are, the ringer volume switch gives you 3 settings, high, low and off. The low setting may as well be a second off setting. You can hardly hear it ring sitting next to it. And the other thing is that the key pad on the phone stays constantly on, even in the cradle. It's not that bright and won't bother when the room is dark, but why they designed it this way is a good question. Most phones key pads turn off when you set them in the cradle.

Other than those minor things,(that's why only 4 stars) this is a great phone for the bedroom. Radio works great. Caller I.D. works just fine. Phone has plenty of memory and is clear. I recommend this one!

After reading the last review, I took a chance and bought this phone from Amazon and it is exactly as described and looks exactly like the photo. I think the last reviewer might have gotten a mistaken product from another seller other buying than Amazon. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Nice small radio, phone, alarm system. It fits into a small space to reduce clutter. The time numbers are easy to see. Less obvious are the glowing dots for AM/PM, as well as the alarm-on glowing dots. Tends to make you tilt the thing back, and then the phone handle falls off. Works as a phone so far, radio quality average, and the alarm buzzer has one volume...LOUD. The light readout on the phone handle keeps tract of all calls...even ones not answered. But....actually, for the price, and the performance....I actually like this little unit and recommend it.

My favorite thing about this alarm clock/phone is the 2 alarm settings. I don't have to reset or even think about turning it on Mon. - Fri. Also, nice volume control. I prefer to wake to music, (hate buzzing alarms!), and my last alarm clock had 2 volume levels -off and LOUD! This allows me to wake at the perfect sound level. Minor negatives - really bright display, like a beacon at night (I cover it up), and I wish the cord was longer (not a big deal). I'm really happy with it.

I love this product. It is just the right size. It is on my end table by the bed and doesnt take up much room. By the picture it doesnt look too nice but when I got it I was surprised to see how nice it does look. I got it before the stated mail date. Highly recommend it. - Alarm Clock Telephone - All - In - One Alarm Clock - Alarm Clock Radio - Telephone-alarm'

Mens Underwear - hanes, crewneck

I always buy Fruit of the Loom T shirts for my son

and have been pleased. But this packet of T shirts

was totally different than any that I have purchased before.

They were very thin & flimsy. They shrunk after washing them

in cold water. Never put them in the dryer. Extremely poor quality. Fruit of the Loom Men's 2-Pack Pocket Crew Neck T-Shirt,Black/Grey,Medium

My old lightweight pocket ts are about 4-5 years old and their supply is dwindling, which is what led me to try these. One of the negative reviews said these shirt were much more lightweight than the regular fruit of the loom shirt, and happily for me, they were right. Lately, I have been having a heck of a time finding any lightweight pocket t-shirts, the previous brands I used to buy have all gone to "heavy duty" or "heavyweight". Heavyweight is great for durability, but it has been in the 90s and 100s for weeks here in Virginia; therefore lightweight is a must!

While they are indeed lightweight, they seem well enough made and of high enough quality. I don't see any lose threads, or anything like that. The shirts fit well and are very comfortable, and the pockets are big enough for a large smartphone and a few credit cards

I wish I could buy just the tan (pebble) but both are lightweight enough that I am not worrying too much about being out in the sun this week. In fact - I just bought two more 2-packs

The only point reduction I give is that they seem to stain somewhat easily.

If you are looking for heavy weight pocket ts? Well, keep on looking. I have found a wide variety of those on Amazon and elsewhere, but if you want heavyweight, these are not the ts you're looking for.

My husband will only wear Dark Blue or Black T-shirts by Fruit of the Loom, made in the USA and they are getting harder and harder to find because everything is being made in China or the UK. I hope I am able to continue buying ~made in the USA products at least on line. Thank you Amazon - Hanes - Undershirts - Crewneck - Mens Underwear'

Ethernet Switch - belkin, cisco

Bought two of the refurbished Linksys by Cisco 5-Port Workgroup Switch. One of them worked and one didn't. Guess which one I installed first. I have had good luck with these in the past, but from now on...I'll spend the extra 8 or so bucks to buy a new one. As most of you know, when you need to replace a workgroup switch, you REALLY need it. I always keep a couple of them on the shelf. I'll use the refurbished one until it dies, but you can rest assured there will be 2 BRAND NEW ones on the shelf ready to go! Linksys by Cisco EtherFast 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch - Linksys Certified Refurbished Product

I thought this was a hub-like router thing. I should have read more carefully. I will still be able to use it for when my team has only one internet connection. This will enable us to all be connected. This is NOT a router. A switch is different from a router, as I learned after I bought it. Good price though, and still useful.

Worked fine when I figured not to use the uplink connector #5. You must use it to uplink to another switch and continue. Avoid it for your local connections. Directions are uselessly non-helpful and non-existant.

I use this as a splitter and it works perfect. No signal degradation that I've noticed. I use one line in and four lines out. The lines out go to a Roku, Blu-Ray player, Xbox 360 and a Wii. I haven't ran them all at the same time of course, but who would? :)

I bought this switch as I needed another switch for access in another room. One thing you want to remember which is true with just about all switches-- the port immediately next to the input is not a port that you're going to want to use as you won't be able to get a signal out of it. That being said, its highly reliable, it doesn't drop off at all-- though I wouldn't recommend it if you're in need of multiple ports I mainly use this in my bedroom where there's just one of my Xbox 360s and a DVR that need internet connection.

Purchased a Linksys 5 port switch, since that was the original equipment I had on a home network that suddenly ceased to function. Of course I set this network up about 5 years ago, so I figured it was probably natural that things start to break at that time point. Unfortunately, the new Linksys switch that I swapped in lasted less than a month. After speaking to our IT resource at work, he basically said that the Linksys products were Cisco's attempt to tap the home market. The Cisco products for industry are top flight, but he warned me that the Linksys products were junk. Should have listened, so when I asked for a replacement suggestion for home use, he recommended any Netgear switch that was blue, not the white cased products.

Caveat emptor

This was not what i thought i was getting not at all what the picture looked the only thing that was the same was the name and model #. Instructions were very vague had to go to the website to print out better for myself this item didnt come with ne just a cd with some very vague instructions on it. But other than that so far it works ok although it didnt tell u ne where that i can remember that since it is just a 5 port switch if u use the uplink port then u cant use the 5th port because the uplink and the 5th port are wired together if would have known that i prob wouldnt have bought it. - Belkin - Cisco - Ethernet - Ethernet Switch'

Swiss Army Knife - pocket knife, gift idea

After 14 years of service my Victorinox mini-Swiss Army Knife (SAK) has finally begun to show its age: the toothpick went missing, the enamel casing cracked, the insignia fell off. So I've bought another (the original sits in a drawer, its knife blade as sharp as ever, the screwdriver still perfectly utile, the scissors are gummed up but could probably be cleaned out with some rubbing alcohol). For versatility and simplicity it's hard to beat this item. Sure there are SAKs with more blades and tools, but the simple knife/screwdriver/scissors combination is going to meet the vast majority of your needs (ok, it doesn't have a bottle opener: use a door strike plate, MacGyver). The toothpick is so-so, but I can't count the number of times I've needed to tweeze something and used the SAK tweezers when I couldn't find the bathroom set. The key fob, while not the most exciting of features, does provide a convenient way to carry the SAK around with you. This item is sure to please. I love mine. You'll love yours. Buy one for someone else - they'll love theirs. Victorinox Swiss Army Classic SD Pocket Knife, Red

For many years now, I have carried one of these small Swiss Army knives on each of my two key rings - one for work and one for home. Barely a day goes by when I do not take one of them out of my pocket to use once or twice - to quickly file down a broken nail, to tweeze out a small splinter, to cut open a small item with the scissor of something larger by cutting the wrapping tape with the knife blade - the toothpick is used daily! I cannot imagine being without one. Of course, I own larger and more multi-purpose knives, but when it comes to carrying something this handy on a key chain or ring, you just can't beat them!

There are two major (authorized) manufacturers of Swiss Army knives: Victorinox, the maker of this particular favorite of mine and Wenger, a reliable alternative brand that makes many similar and some even nearly identical models. I have used both over the years and have found there to be absolutely no appreciable differences in the quality, durability or pricing of the knives. With so many models to choose from, it probably makes sense to decide which features you need and then shop both brands for the best price you can find. But back to the knife at hand, the SA Classic SD Pocket Knife.

This is the one of the smallest knives in the Victorinox line. Measuring only about 2 1/4" long and about 1/4" wide, it adds little by way of heft to a key ring. It is a compact knife containing a total of 6 equally compact tools. This is not for the big things. This is a small knife with small tools to deal with small things. With expectations appropriately set, it is unsurpassed in it's usefulness as a basic daily tool.

The Tools

There are compartments on the outer casing of knife - each containing a small appliance. One is home to a small white toothpick that I have found to be entirely satisfactory - except that after a year or two of use, I seem to lose them. I think the molded shape wears a bit over time and repeated use and no longer holds itself snugly in the allotted compartment. They can be easily and inexpensively replaced though at any fully stocked retailer of the knives. On the opposite side of the knife is a compartment housing a micro-tweezer. Because it is so very small and light, it cannot be used as a regular tweezer, but only for light-duty needs. These include, I am pleased to report, removing small splinters and picking up objects too small for my increasingly clumsy fingers!

There are three tools that fold into the knife itself, one of which has two uses - actually providing a total of four useful mini-tools. These include 1) a flat spring loaded scissor, a regular blade and a nail file (which, as a guitar picker, I use almost daily) topped with the fourth tool, a screw driver head, small enough to be used for either flat screws or Phillips head screws - providing that they are small enough. Don't misunderstand - the smallness of the tools does not render them either token or useless, but their size is a factor in their usability in real day-to-day life.

Maintenance

This is nearly a non sequitor, but in the interests of completeness, I will briefly address it.

Years have gone by before anything beyond simple removal of dust and cleaning the instruments is required. One time, a blade seemed to be sticking just a tad and a quick and very short burst of WD40 took care of it - permanently. The knife is build to last until you decide you no longer want or need it.

Value

There are few things in life built for frequent use without planned obsolescence being figured into their design. This little pocket tool set is, happily, among them. For somewhere around $9., you can have something actually skillfully made that will serve you well and for a good long time. How many things can any of us really say that about?

I love mine and would feel not only unprepared, but somehow naked - or at least disabled - were I to leave home without one.

I have been a collector of pocket knives since I was a kid and I'm always doing something around the house, needing to file a nail, tweeze a splinter, cut off some twine or open a letter. I bought one of these years and years ago in the train station at Zurich with my leftover change and I have it to this day...The knife takes a bit of sharpening--the type of steel used is resistant to rust and holds its shine, but it also makes it a bit more difficult to hold an edge. Nonetheless, with a good sharpening stone and some care, you can make a fine edge useful for opening letters, cutting twine or cutting open a box. This version contains six tools, including the knife blade, scissors, nail file with screwdriver on the end, plastic toothpick, tweezers and lanyard/key ring attachment. If you attach a string to the ring, you can use the pocketknife as a makeshift plumb bob. This is a small knife, just 2-1/4 inches long, so it fits flat in a pocket or purse. I personally like to have a corkscrew and Philips screwdriver as well, but that is on a larger model that doesn't fit so well in the back pocket of your trousers. Since this is so small, don't forget to remove it from your pants pocket before you head to the airport, as passengers are no longer permitted to board with such items. - Pocket Knife - Multi-tool - Victorinox - Gift Idea'

Mowers - gas-powered, mulch

The quality of cut is below what I've come to expect from my commercial mower - but hey, this only cost 1/25th of what it did. After a month of owning it and running it near 60 hours, it seems reliable. Starts 75% of the time on the first pull and always by the second. The drive belt chatters some if the grass is juicy and collects on the belt. It does a near flawless job in Tall Fescue, but leaves stragglers and obvious wheel tracks in Kentucky Blue Grass. The bagging system seems to work well. I mainly use it in mulching mode - or, if the grass is tall, discharge mode. It cuts best with the front of the deck set to your intended cutting height and the rear set higher by one notch. And, speaking of tall grass, it does a pretty good job cutting tall grass (6-8") at the highest wheel setting (4" on this mower) compared to other 22" mowers I've had. I tried switching the blade to the Gator #96-607 blade, which doesn't really improve the quality of cut, but it does seem to last longer before it needs sharpening. The Gator also seems to have a slight advantage in clipping dispersal when in discharge mode. The cleaning port does ok to rinse out the bulk of what collects under the deck - but if you wait long after you finish cutting and the grass dries under the deck, all bets are off. Taller clippings collect around the blade shroud and must be removed manually from time to time. Granted, I'm picky - and to get a better cutting 22" mower will likely cost twice as much. All in all, not too bad. TORO Personal Pace Walk P

I've had this mower for about six weeks and I am really impressed with it. Previously I used a Snapper Hi-Vac that I didn't think performed very well. I like that this mower is pull and go, meaning it starts on the first pull with no choke to mess with and there is no engine speed to set. The Personal Pace self-propelled system is awesome, I couldn't imagine going back to one without that. The take-off's and stops are very smooth, and it truly does adjust to your walking speed.

I have only used the mulching feature on the mower, which I think works really, really well - especially for a single blade system. I tend to mow fairly often and at a fairly high setting but my lawn is thick tall fescue so there is plenty of grass being processed. I will say that occasionally on turns where I lift the front tires that small clumps of grass can appear but it doesn't happen too often. The cutting is even, and it does a great job even with minimal to no overlap. My snapper was really bad about leaving stragglers along the edge of the cut path so I had to overlap quite a bit more with that mower to get everything even.

All in all, I would recommend this mower. It's a great value for the money. I picked mine up on sale at Home Depot for right around $300. Cuts like a champ and is very smooth to operate.

EDIT - Updated 8/3/11.

Okay, after using this product for half a year I have to update my review. In my initial cutting last fall I did not use the bagger. Using the bagger caused a multitude of problems. One, the mower leaves a lot more stragglers. So much so that I have some areas I have to mow twice. It's a total pain! On top of that, a lot of grass shoots out the top of the bag, right at the operator. The mower works pretty good for mulching but not so much for bagging.

Also, the "GTS" system is kind of a joke. Another thing I discovered when bagging is that when you stop the mower to empty the bag it is very hard to restart. When I first start mowing it starts on one or two pulls but once you stop, it's often game over. I sometimes have to walk away and let it cool down for several minutes before it will start again. Very frustrating. I actually contacted Toro about this, and ultimately my local service center, and I was told that Toro has added a list of "ideal conditions" that must be met for the GTS guarantee to kick in. Included in this are things like the weather (temperature), mowing conditions, and many more. The mechanic basically told me that Toro knows they have problems with this but instead of addressing the issue to fix it they are trying to give themselves an out with a list of exclusions for the guarantee. BS if you ask me.

I only had this mower for about six months and hit a small stump and bent the crankshaft. It would have been more expensive to fix it than to buy a new one! I hit many a small stump with my old craftsman and never had any problems. That tells me durability is an issue. I replaced this mower with a Honda and won't be buying another Toro!

I purchased a Toro 3 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. Wheels are falling off, front wheel drive needed repair. The lawn mower is in the shop more than in my garage. Would not recommend purchasing a Toro!!

Mower worked fine when new. Still does, except I can't use it due a gas tank that has split the entire length. It's now a safety and environmental hazard, leaking gas even if I only put in a splash. Toro customer service ignored me, then when I asked to deal with a supervisor finally (after several more days) told me to buy a new tank. The "helpful" guy gave me the wrong part number, to boot. A gas tank should last a decade at least, not a year and a half. An obvious manufacturing defect, but Toro does not care one bit, and takes zero responsibility.

Purchased Mower 5-19-2010 from local dealer and had problems from the start. The mower would stop on me when mowing; I set the mower to mulch. It does not like to mulch. So it would stop and you could not get it restarted for house after it had been running for 15-20 minutes. Took this mower back to the dealer numerous times and they could or would not do anything about it. Contacted Toro and it was totally useless. All Toro and the dealership cares about is that they have your money. Everything ends ones the sale is completed. This is true at the dealership as well Forsyth Mower, Winston Salem. The only way for me to use this mower is the side discharge and keep the grass cutting lever at the midway point or higher or it will choke up and cut off. I had owned the Toro Super Recycler 20007 in the past which worked wonderful at mulching and I never had a problem but forget it with the 20332. I am stuck with the mower to only mow with the side discharge as I do not bag my grass. SO, BUYER BEWARE!. - Bag - Lawn Mower - Mulch - Gas-powered'
