So I've read two reviews on this holster mentioning that it is too big or does not properly fit the iPhone 4. I'd like to prove that wrong with this review. I was able to "test" this holster before purchasing it and I really like it. I personally do not like any bulky cases or otterbox type protectors. I do like the Apple Bumper because of the look, but generally like to carry my phone around as it was intended. I initially thought that this would not securely hold the phone in the holster, but I was very wrong. It doesn't not let the phone budge a bit when inserted. I have seriously tested this thing out by dropping it on carpet, shaking vigorously and pulling by the phone. The point is that the phone will stay secured and you don't have to hide it with a case or bulky holster. The swivel is nice of course and thankfully it is a very stiff swivel so it will remain where you set it. One other point to mention is that the sides are still exposed so you can mute/unmute the phone all while the screen is protected by the soft felt interior of the holster. The only reason that I marked this a 4-star is because of the belt clip. Depending on the belt you're wearing it may take a little effort to get it on. Cellet Rubberized FORCE Holster For Apple iPhone 4
This is a good quality holster. I have been using this for a few weeks now and I am very happy with it. It is able to hold the iphone firmly and the belt clip does not slip out of the belt.
I do find it difficult to take the phone out of the clip. If I receive a call and I release the phone from the clip, the phone does not pop-out in my hand. I have to pull the phone out of the clip and sometimes use two hands to do so...since the iphone is so thin. Its kind of difficult, especially when you are on the move.
Well, it looks like this manufacture has a big quality control issue. I received the first one at the end of July 2010, and by October 2010 it had snapped. The stress to the little plastic pins was too much. The replacement lasted from Nov to Mar. Once again the pin snapped off.
When I had my Omnia II phone, I had and still have the same kind of clip (not from Cellet) and it still works 4 years later!!!
Don't buy this unless you;
1. Like to have your phone fall to the floor.
2. Like returning items over and over to the manufacture.
3. Collect bits of broken plastic
While it was intact, it made a very good holster... I'm not fat, and I kept it to my side so no possibility of it breaking because I leaned too far one way or the other, I've always used this style of clip/holster and have never had them break - They usually last longer than the phone!
To the eye and to the touch, this thing is just like actual ones made of real materials. The materials SEEMED ok, the fit and finish looked the part. But it was probably one of those blatant ripoffs of intellectual property that Chinese industrialists are fond of committing. You steal someone else's good design, you pour inferior plastic into the mold, insert a junk metal spring, and voila, make lots of money ripping people off without any remorse.
So here's how this item performed for me. I opened the package. I put it on my belt. I carefully snapped my iphone4 into it. Felt great! I poured a glass of OJ. I reached down for my phone and something was wrong. The holster was hanging loose from my belt, about to drop to the floor. I examined it and found the plastic had just sheared off at the hinge. I hadn't bumped it, scraped it, or misused it in any way. Then I noticed the sad excuse for a metal spring, almost like foil instead of spring metal. Completely broken and unusable, into the trash can it went, like so much inferior junk. I chuckled and bought a Seidio case of the exact same design, which turned out to be awesome.
I bought this holster for my new iphone based upon reviews listed here. Mine lasted 4 days.
It got caught on my car seat belt and the hinge of the belt clasp snapped. The unit is all plastic. Every part of it is plastic. The clasp holding the phone in the unit is plastic. The belt clip is plastic. And the hinge of the belt clip is plastic! I suppose if your most strenuous activity is sitting in a Starbucks having a cup of coffee, then this might work for you. But if you are an active worker who occasionally makes contact with obstacles, then you need something more durable - or perhaps rugged. I'll be using a leather case with a metal belt clip.
I had a similar Sedio holster for my BlackBerry--I thought this would be good because of the padding on the inside of the clip. It's hard to get the iPhone out with one hand, and the top clip keeps hitting the top button, prompting the phone to shut down.
The Sedio is worth the extra money...
Mine broke after two weeks. It got snagged on a sofa cusion, and broke. It was good prior to that. Snug fit, stayed in place. it occurred to me, for what i paid for the phone, it would make sense to spend a little on a case that will protect my investment. - Iphone Holster - Iphone 4'
