Husqvarna Chain Saw - husqvarna chain saw

If you don't know how to start a chainsaw than you should not be using one! Once the saw fires you turn the choke off and pull the start cord. If you keep trying to start it with the choke on it will flood the engine. Read the user's manual, it talks about it in the manual. I just purchased the 450 and it cuts like a dream and has the power to really do the trick. I like the fact that I can put a 20" bar on this saw and have the power to get the job done. I'm not having any issues getting the saw to run even in below freezing temps. Make sure you use winter grade bar oil if you cut in the winter. It's only been two days of solid cutting but this machine has out preformed my last saw. Hopefully with good maintenance habits I can keep this thing around for a long time. Oh yea...wear chaps and a helmet. I love that macho attitude with no protective gear. You'd be amazed at how fast you can bleed out when you hit an artery!

Bought this at my local dealer last year and have used it quite a lot. Have had no trouble at all starting it, almost always on first pull after priming, not sure why the other reviewer had trouble. I put a 20 inch bar on it, and it goes through whatever I want. Much less vibration than other saws I've used. Easy to clean and maintain. Would buy it again.

I have had this saw since Dec 24, 2010. I have cut 5 trailer loads of firewood so far. I did have the chain jump off the bar the last time I used it but it was because I had not yet adjusted the chain. I have not had a minutes trouble with this saw. The very first time I tried to start it, I pulled on the rope 6 times. Since then, it starts on the first or second pull everytime. I would definately buy again.

Had need of a new saw to replace an older one that was starting to give me trouble. besides that I have been wanting a second saw and this gave me a good excuse to get one. I typically cut 8 to 10 cord per year for the past 30 years and have had experience with several types and sizes. My favorite was the Husky 55 which I still have but needs some work. I checked out the reviews on the Husky 50 with the most being very good with a few bad reviews but then I saw the same with Stihl reviews so I came to the conclusion some people don't really know much about starting or using a chain saw. Anyhow Amazon had this one for a price that couldn't be beat so I thought I would take a chance on buying it online as opposed to a dealer. I wasn't disappointed. No problem with start-up. The first job I had was to clean up some storm damage. Had a large red oak uproot. At the stump it was about 29" diameter. This saw cut through that like a knife through butter. I cut up that tree in no time. The main reason I went with the smaller saw was lower weight. As one gets older that extra pound or so hanging out there can make a difference on the the back feels afterwards. I just like the way this saw feels in my hand and am impressed with its performance. This model isn't a professional model but for the work as a homeowner on over 5 acres of woodland this saw is perfect.

This is my first chainsaw. I only wanted to buy a chainsaw once, so I did some research online and in the ACE store. I have a healthy fear of chainsaws and read the manual completely through as well as watched several safety videos on YouTube (I highly recommend that). This saw starts super easy if you READ the manual. This saw runs great, cuts like a knife through butter (70' trees) and is easy to acclimate to. I got lucky with an in-store grand opening sale and got the saw, case and extra chain for the price of just the saw. I would recommend this saw to my friends. In fact one of my friends has a Homelite chainsaw and Raved at how fast my saw rips through wood and works much better than his. I also recommend the Husqvarna 2 cycle mixing oil with Sta-bil. Stored my saw since the Fall and it started right away in the Spring. I did have a problem with the chain that came with it, but the store just gave me a new one and I was on my way.

Fires first pull or three every time. Cuts great, not too heavy/ bulky. Leaks a lot of bar oil in storage, but supposedly they all do. Holds chain tension well, easy to adjust. Air filter easy to access (clean). Would buy again and recommend to others. Did a lot of research. Decided Stihl has a little premium built into price/ mainly for serious cutters. I just cut a few trees a year and just wanted something reliable, not to large, and easy to maintain. So far, so good. I expect many years out of this saw. If I didn't go with this, I probably would've gone one step down with an Echo.

In my humble homeowner opinion, there are two good chain saws on the market today. Stihl and Husqvarna. The Husky 450 is an excellent medium size saw for the homeowner like me. I like the saw because it is easy to start, quiet and powerful. I would recommend it to anyone. The 18 inch bar works for the size tree I typically cut. I keep the chains sharp and have several on hand to change in the field. The bar tool comes with the saw for easy chain changeout. My two sons also use the saw and rate it as highly as I do!

I have lived on 12 acres of woodland for 39 years and have owned other saws...Stihl, McCulloch, Homelite, Poulan, to name a few, and while they were all good saws, nothing compares to the Husky 450. In the past 4 weeks I have been doing some lot clearing, mostly oaks, pine and hickorys in the 8 to 16 inch diameter range and this saw has worked flawlessly. Easy to start (2 or 3 pulls at most)and tons of power. In fact it cuts so easily I look forward to working with it.

File Transfer - transfer cable, data transfer

I have a laptop and new desk top, my son has a desktop of his own. I've been wanting this type of cable for some time but "Worst Buy" wanted $45 for a similiar unit. So for a long time I had been transfering via 4 or 8GB usb drives, which is ok but not nearly as fast as this thing! I transfered 20gb of mp3 music [windows media] from laptop [vista] to son's desktop [windows 7] in about 5 minutes...NO joke! It worked so fast that I thought it did not work at first. It is basically plug 'n play. I set it up, dropped 'n dragged entire music file and walked away. My son was in his room watching TV and told me it was done and at first I thought he was nuts. Amazon comes thru again with best price, no tax, free ship and a great product. Definitely worth getting is you want to move large data, media or picture files. Dunno what they're talking about in the description where it says 480Mbps, however on the technical specs, it says 16Mbps. The 16Mbps is correct, which is nowhere as fast as 480, but it's definitely not slow. I've used this with XP, Vista, and Seven, back and forth, through each one. It works, for all of them. I've even run it through a desktop with XP to a laptop with XP, Vista, and Seven (not that it would make a difference, but I just thought I'd throw that tidbit in). So, if you're skeptical because this is much less expensive than the other file transfer cables, don't be. If you pay $60+ you might be getting 480Mbps, but if you just need a basic data transfer cable and don't work in the music or video industry, this is perfectly fine (and no, having a million songs on your computer doesn't make you a part of the music industry, however with all the music you've stolen, you might as well own a share in it - I am simply referring to those who have thousands of WAV or FLAC files; Mp3s and Mp4s, or whatever, are highly compressed).

So anyway, without any hesitation, if you need a file transfer cable, get this. There aren't that many which are bidirectional and work on most OS.

Software auto-installs easily on any PC as soon as plugged in; no install disc needed. Dual file directory panes, similar to Windows Explorer, appear on both PC's allowing moving or copying, either way, between your PC's. Works perfectly with my older desktop (XP) and new laptop (Windows 7). No problems; does everthing I hoped for and expected. Highly recommend.

Copied a good chunk of files from the PC to the laptop with this cable, but out of about 20GB the product could not handle 4GB; the transfer dialog sat on "Processing abc [directory]" for 20 minutes before I manually stopped the process. No files were written to the laptop during this time.

Tried again, skipping the offending dir, and now the thing hangs at a simple vti_cnf directory. Had to again stop manually as no progress for about 15 minutes.

Further, if the cable finds a problematic file (e.g. "file name too long") it simply stops and cancels the remaining transfer. No option to "skip" the offending file, and now you must manually search your directories to figure out where exactly the process stopped.

Too bad the product does not work as advertised; would have been nice if it had.

PS: I ended up copying the remaining 4GB to an external drive and from there onto the laptop within 20 minutes. Using the external drive from the start would have been faster overall.

I have an old desktop full of stuff. I don't want to back it all up because some of the stuff is junk. So... I have it in a corner and was pulling files off as needed. However, sometimes I need to transfer larger files and a thumb drive becomes a pain. A portable hard drive, even more so.

This device allows me to plug into the old XP machine, and transfer by drag and drop.

It is so fast, that the transfer often beats the status bar... seriously! I'll see the staus bar pop-up for a transfer and immediately disappear, because the transfer is already complete. So far, I've only used it between XP and Vista 64. I'll amend this post if I encounter any problems with a Win 7 transfer.

Great product, simple to use. Just plug in to one PC, wait a second for software to load, click OK. Plug into second PC, wait a second for software to load and click OK on that PC. Then, both PC's have 2 Panes. Working from either PC, Drag and Drop from the upper and lower panes to transfer files. Just scroll through directories, compare directories, it is terrific. No more swapping, just drag and drop. Love it. (Wish the cord was a little longer than 6')

I bought this to move all of my stuff among my older computers (both windows xp) and my new one (windows 7). I got it when it was 4.99 (after the rebate- which I'm still waiting on) and it was well worth it. I just plugged it in and it installed the software on its own and it was very easy to move everything that I needed too. I moved stuff from xp to xp and xp to windows 7- all without any errors. All of the files transferred fully and relatively quickly. Highly Recommended - support hose, socks

I knew convincing my husband to try compression socks was going to be a challenge. Now it is my fault for not reading the specifications closer but... these socks did not help in the convincing.

They are somewhat thick (thinner than the white gym socks but not by much) -- definitely not the day to day dress socks he likes to wear. I will probably donate this to a local clinic Because even without trying them on he has said no way.

Also both he and I just don't like the general feel of the sock. They have a fuzzy quality. I can not talk about the compression but general look and feel are game stoppers for my husband. I too would not wear these socks.

Cable Connectors - audio cable, ipod cable

I had ordered a 6' cable from another dealer at the same price as the pictured 2' cable. My only purpose was to connect an iPod to a portable speaker. My results were immediately wildly erratic. I was able to get a semi-clear audio signal only after extremely careful manipulation of the pin in the iPod jack, followed by periods of holding my breath so as not to disrupt the connection. My first inclination was to condemn the player, but then I remembered a recent experience with the HDMI cords connected to a Sony TV. The picture went on and off whenever someone walked into the room, causing my wife and me to condemn the TV set or the Time-Warner cable box. But then I exchanged the heavy-duty, thick HDMI cable for a thinner, lightweight HDMI cable--immediately, all problems with my television set were eliminated.

Exactly the same happened when I tossed the new 6' 3.5mm audio cable for the pictured 2' one. No fine-tuning required. Simply snap one end into the iPod, the other into the stereo speaker unit, and the communication between them was instant, complete, and secure.

I notice that different dealers sell this cable, which may or may not make a difference (for the record, my cable came from Cable Showcase/PC Part Store). The point is that, contrary to the assertions of some reviewers, all cables are not equal: it's not simply a matter of buying the cheapest version of the type of cable you require. Besides the cable itself, there's the more complicated matter of the pin with its stereo bands and the requirement of a precise and tight connection with the weight equally distributed on the entire surface of that tiny pin. The least bit of miscalculation on the part of the cable maker, and your pricey gadget could be rendered worthless, at least practically speaking. "3.5mm Stereo Male / 3.5mm Stereo Male, 2 ft"

I bought this to lengthen my MP3 player connection in my vehicle. It works flawlessly. Now i can take the MP3 to my lap or armrest and then pick it up and look at it closely when i am able to make changes and not have to look down. It is made well and has worked for six months no issues.

Now I could have gone with a more expensive, name-brand cable and rested easy in the knowledge that I had spent good money and purchased a quality cable that would connect my MP3 player to the Aux input of my car. But I chose this little $3 dollar cable. Why? Well who cares about a little interference, over the noise of an engine and the fan and the wind in a moving car? You probably couldn't tell the difference between the crackling of cable noise and the crackling of a standard car stereo system anyway. And this cable ships free in two days with Amazon Prime! I wasn't asking for all that much -- just a simple connection between point A and point B. So I bought this one.

I'll admit I was pretty excited when this package came in the mail. I love packages! Not only that, but I finally get to play my favorite driving music directly through my MP3 player (no more burning CDs). I tore open the envelope and the little plastic baggy and immediately went to test out my new cable.

The cable itself looks fine. It has a nice thick sheath made of good plastic (plenty of insulation) -- not like those earbuds you get for free with cheap MP3 players that start cutting in and out after a couple weeks. It looks much sturdier than your average stereo cable. Unfortunately this was not the case. Imagine my dismay when, after I turned on the music, I immediately found that the sound was cutting between the left and right channels, and crackled every time I moved the cable. I didn't expect wonders out of a $3 cable, but, like, aren't they at least supposed to work ONCE? Don't they test these things out of the factory or something?

Cutting open the cable, I found that while the inner wires and the jack were all perfectly good, they were held together with tiny little dabs of solder that came apart at the merest pull. You wouldn't expect that solder was the most expensive component of the cable, but given how little of it the manufacturer used, perhaps it was.

I feel like the manufacturer must have missed the point. At the only point in the assembly where the connection could go wrong (the soldering joint), he neglected to ensure that the connection was properly made. In a cable, whose only purpose is making this connection, this seems to me to be an egregious mistake.

I ended up cannibalizing the cable for the two jacks and soldering a cable myself. I went through several sets of cheap earbuds when I let the cable get to hot and melted the plastic (ruining the plug and forcing me to go find another more). But, when I was, done my home-made cable worked perfectly well -- as well as I would have expected this $3 cable to have worked. Wenger Swiss Army

This is a good watch, and the price was right. However you need to update your info. This watch is not the size, etc. you show on your site. This is the second watch I have ordered from you and after the first one I E-mailed you about the description of these watches. This watch is much larger than you show in diameter and thickness. It was cheap enough that I will keep it as it is a work watch, but please try to get the size down. I think you can do better than this.

Battery Packs - battery packs, cordless tools

Great battery! I bought this specifically for my job site radio (2790-20), but recently purchased a cordless sawzall and will be using it for the sawzall as well. Additionally, I have two XC batteries that came with my hammer drill (2602-22) and impact driver (2650-22). These batteries last a loooooong time for almost all applications; it seems like each battery will last for several hours doing even mid-level work. So far, the only time that the battery completely drained on me while I was working was when I used my drill to mix concrete (using an attached paddle for mixing concrete in a bucket).

As far as the weight, it's really not that bad and you get used to it quickly. I have used the 18V compact li-on batteries, which are great, but half the amperage; this battery is 2.8 amps and the compact is 1.4. Additionally, if you buy this retail at Home Depot, you're paying $120 + tax versus the $75 here. Totally worth it.

Now comes my critique. I absolutely loooooove Milwaukee, but they really should have taken a lesson from DeWalt: Their Ni-Cad and Li-On batteries are not "backwards compatible" with each other, that is, you HAVE TO USE the respective battery with its respective tool. Even worst, certain tools REQUIRE the XC M18 battery and cannot be powered by the compact M18 (for example, the cordless sawzall [2620-20]). To me, Milwaukee should have made every battery--from Ni-Cad to Li-On, and regardless of XC/compact or voltage--compatible with every tool and charger, but they didn't . . . so yeah. The good thing about purchasing this battery from the get-go is that it can be used on all of Milwaukee's M18 series tool line, whereas the compact M18 cannot.

As for charging, it's pretty reasonable. If it only has one bar left on the fuel gauge, I find that it takes anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes to charge. I called Milwaukee about leaving the battery charging overnight, and they said that it's not an issue with these batteries--a sigh of relief for those of us used to older batteries with "battery memory."

I would highly recommend this battery, but KNOW if the tool you intend to use it on is compatible with it. Again, Milwaukee's Ni-Cad tools are NOT compatible with their Li-On batteries, and vice versa. Know your line of Milwaukee cordless tools before purchasing. I purchased a couple of these batteries with a four tool combo kit. While the tools seem to be solid and comfortable, the batteries are bit of a disappointment. Why would Milwaukee downgrade the amperage of their batteries from the V18's 3 amp to the M18's 2.6 amp? When Makita has set the benchmark @ 3 amps, it seems foolish to offer anything less. This wouldn't really bother me that much, after all it is only about 14% less, but Milwaukee went out of their way to obscure this fact. Nowhere on their website does it state the amperage for these and the battery itself only gives it's rating in watts, on the bottom in very small writing, 47 watt hours. Not a good way to treat your base who loved the V18 batteries, only to see that line discontinued. I gave it three stars because I think these batteries will probably live up to their expectations, mostly, but feel like I got tricked into buying something that's not equivalent to Makita's LXT, and that is who they are chasing after, IMH0.

I have a multi-tool M18 kit along with three of these M18 XC batteries. They've been used and abused my me and all my helpers while building a house. The tools have been dropped and kicked around at times, and I've cringed as I've watched tools fall and direct hits taken by the batteries. The little Milwaukee circular saw took a 15' plunge (a new table fixed it) and the battery had a ding indicating it had taken a hit also. I saw the drill/driver take two direct hits. To no avail. They all still lock on properly, they all work properly, they all recharge very quickly.

They've been drained to nothing, or been run for just a little bit then topped off. It seems to make no difference, as they all seem to be running tools just about the same duration after one year of use. The little 1/4" impact driver has seen an insane amount of screws, thousands of 2-1/2" torx, 5,000 1-1/2" washer heads, 250 7" torx lags, 500 5" torx lags, and on and on (that little Milwaukee impact driver is an animal). It really was shocking to see how long these batteries would run these screws before needing a charge/change. Tons of sawzall work, tons of circular saw work, tons of drill/driver work.

Only one trick to keep in mind during cold winters and subzero temperatures... The battery charger will give a blinking LED indication if the battery is too cold to recharge. This happened when we were pushing through temps around zero. We took the batteries into warmth each night when we shut down, topped them all off, so that they were all warm and raring to go in the morning. During the day we just put the battery in the charger (a warm area) and within a few minutes it was up to temperature and quickly recharging.

I really, really, value the Milwaukee M18 cordless line and batteries and recommend them wholeheartedly.

My 3-4 year old 18V compact Milwaukee drill had lost its effectiveness in the shop due to the inability of the lithium ion batteries to properly recharge. Any suspicion I had about the charger's capabilities disappeared when I removed a new,freshly charged high cap. pack and plugged it in. Whole new tool. Major power increase and sustained. I was impressed enough to buy a second one and about the same time I acquired the new 18V right angle drill. Either way this new battery packs a wallop. Down side is the weight increase.

Already had one, needed a spare. Price at the local stores was WAY more than Amazon, plus with Prime I got it next day without having to spend any time or fuel on the road! (and no standing in line either!) - Battery Packs - Milwaukee - Milwaukee 18v Lithium-ion - Cordless Tools'
