iphone 3g - iphone 3g, iphone 3g glass

I have to say that this is a great product. I keep reading it is very hard to do,all I have to say is that I have never installed one until these two that I ordered. I changed two in about one hour and 20 minutes. After looking at a few You tube videos on how to change it, i got the idea and went for it. Now both My Iphones look brand new. Id give it a 2 out of five in the dificulty scale. and a five out of five for the greatness of the product. All you need is the time to do it, because they send you everything you need. iPhone 3G 2nd gen 8GB 16GB Touch LCD Screen TAIWAN VERSION

I just got done installing this product on my iPhone 3G in about 1 1/2 hours. Just to clear things up I was not sure if I wanted to do this on my own but I found some online help on how to instal [...] they have video tutorials on youtube that are exactly what you need I have never installed anything like this before much less have the nerve to take apart an iPhone! One thing to buyers who have a 3gS and are asking if this product is compatible: I am not completely sure because I have seen on other sites the 3gS replacement IS different like I have said I am not completely sure but I would advise those 3gS users to look into it! I would recomend anyone this product because it includes all the tools needed. And do it yourself it sounds much harder than what it really is plus you have the benifit of saying "I did it myself".

*****HELPFUL TIP FOR THOSE INSTALLING IT ON THEIR OWN:

*****FIRST: When separating the Digitizer form the back of the phone I recoment using the sucction tool.

*****SECCOND: When separating the Digitizer from the plastic frame make sure to separate it form the inside not the outside for this will damage the ruber seal on the outside of the plastic frame!

After breaking my iPhone 3G's screen, I opted for replacing it with this at a tenth of the cost Apple offered me. The part arrived in good condition and in good time. I laid it all out, and after watching a few videos, managed to replace it without a hitch. I only ended up using one of screwdrivers, the suction cup and one of the screen pry tools. There's really no need to use the guitar picks and stuff. Like other reviewers said, the screwdrivers are pretty awful, so I recommend picking up one somewhere else, if you don't have one already. I had to stop in the middle of my repair to go get a $5 screwdriver set from Lowe's because this screwdriver wasn't strong enough to take out one of the tighter screws.

After the repair, the phone worked great, but after a bit I found a fair number of things that indicated it wasn't an original part. They are...

1. The screen felt a little funny at first--powdery maybe?--but after some use it seemed to go away.

2. It does hold onto a few more fingerprints than the original screen does, but I quickly got used to it.

3. Sometimes there would be chunks of time (20 seconds or so) that the screen would be totally unresponsive. I think this may have been a phone problem, not a screen problem as it always occurred in chunks of time, rather than sporadically. Maybe if you reconnect the little ribbons etc. extra well when you reassemble your phone, you won't have this problem.

4. There's a barely noticeable grid-type pattern on the screen. It never bothered me, and I would never see it when I was actually using my phone, but in the right light it would come out. This might be a problem if you watch movies on your phone often, which I didn't.

Last of all, the part isn't nearly as strong as the original. I dropped my phone face down for the first time yesterday, and despite it being in a case, the screen has broken again. With my original screen, I had probably dropped my phone the same way at least ten times before it broke. This one broke on the first test. If you babied your iPhone before, and your screen break was merely a one-time thing, I would probably recommend this part to be the most valuable for your money. If you play hard with your phone, like me, I suggest you pay for the real deal, which should probably run you about $50. It'll save you money in the end.

we watched the video online first, replacing the screen was quite easy but for some reason, the microphone wasn't working anymore and the sound neither(the speaker was fine) i assume it is something we did or the instructions were not completly clear.

The price of this is great however it is not a good product becuase after instaling the new glass only the right side of the touchscreen worked. It did not work for me but for the price it's worth the shoot.

I ordered it in early January 2010 and the order was missing all the small bits and bobs i.e. the screw driver and the suction cup. Even after contacting the seller for 2-3 times I didn't get them. The set is pretty much useless for me if I don't have the tools to replace the screen. - Iphone Replacement Glass - Iphone 3g - Iphone 3g Glass - Iphone Glass Screen'
