DO NOT BUY THE OTHER CHARGERS FOR B&D BATTS. There is a reason why this triple charger rocks and the others are garbage. This is a SLOW charger. makes batteries last forver. THis has a transformer in it that converts the electricty into a trickle charge. ALL portable batt's r super expensive, and they create ultra fast direct chargers for them which ruins the batteries within 18 mo. They know this. But to their credit, B&D made a trickle charger so u don't hv buy batt's every year. I hv had a set of 3 batt's that i hv bn using since - no joke, 2005, andf i'd say they r still about 65% effectiv. That's over 5 yrs peeps. Even the dual charger they sell is a rapid charger. Dno't be fooled becaue the dual charger looks like it has a transformer in it. It doesn't. And of course the tiny little single chargers don't either - u can tell when you pick them up, they weight about 20 grams. This triple charger weighs about 10 lbs! I love my 3 port charger. Because it is only a semi-intelligent charger, I do have need for a smarter/quicker charger too. (This is used to determine if the battery is faulty before placing it in the charger. A bad battery can kill your chargers) But, this charger allows you to keep 3 batteries charging at all times. Therefore, no need to remove them from the ports after they are charged. =)
This is a difficult part to find without the entire kit, therefore, I was extremely grateful to see this one for sale on Amazon.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone with the 18v Black & Decker lawn equipment.
hang'em on the wall and thats it. I have one in the garage and one in the shop. Power at your finger tips for all the drills, dustbuster, power hand saw and 5 3/8's circular saw in the shop ahd then in garage are all those tools to maintain the yard and pool. It doesn't get any better then this being fully supplied with the firestorm products by black and decker.
This is a well designed and well constructed product. I have three batteries and it is convenient to have all of them ready to use at any time without having three plug-in chargers in the wall. The unit mounts on the wall for even better convenience. Black and Decker home products have not been my favorite for many years. Many of their products have been poorly designed but not this one.
