Bought these with another set of earphones (non-apple brand) for iPod Touch 16GB. These were cheaper in price, but much better in sound quality. These sound very similar to the Apple branded earphones in timber and clarity. When compared to the Apple earphones, sounds like this one has a 'bass-boost'. Sounds pretty strong in that lower range, but without distortion. One star off for extra weight on one ear-bud (from the mic) always feeling like it wants to fall out of my ear. Never 'felt' like that with original Apple earbuds, even with the mic & volume rocker. Wife had similar complaint. Also, pick-up by mike seems fine. Quality is fine - no falling apart issues. I bought these to use with Skype on a 2nd Generation Ipod Touch. I am quite happy with them for this purpose. Sound quality is good and while the person on the other end could tell I was using "something different" they advised I was still loud and clear. I do still switch to a more expensive brand name earbud when listening to music. They were good enough that I purchased a second set for my wife.
Considering these headphones are quite cheap, I'm rather pleased with how well they seem to be working out. Like one of the previous reviewers, I bought these to work with Skype and I know they work with the iPod Touch's voice memos app that comes pre-installed. The recording sound quality doesn't do very well just hanging from your ear, but if you clip the part with the mic closer to your mouth, it works very well indeed. The only thing keeping me from giving it a five star rating is that one of the earphones wasn't secured well into the black shell, but it's a very simple fix. Just glue it back in. For a pair of earphones so cheap, though, AND with a mic, it's well worth the price. I'm thinking of buying a second pair when these finally break.
Just received these headphones. I longed for an in-ear option for the iphone that would provide good sound quality and simple phone operation. This seems to fit the bill. Sound is very good. Bass is excellent. The long right ear cord is convenient to wrap the line behind the neck and stay out of the way. It ships with only 1 medium size silicone cushion. I would love to see this product with volume control... Maybe in the future, but for $6.00 - I Love it.
I am very satisfied with this headphone so far. I was looking for an inexpensive headphone, not particular about sound quality because I listen mostly to audiobooks and podcasts on my commute and I have a habit of breaking headphones in one way or another, so I wanted something not too fragile. I have been through 3 of these so far in the last 6 months.
I also absolutely need the play-pause button and a microphone is nice to have for my ipod touch.
So far these headphones have worked out great. I have been using them for about 3 weeks, and so far it doesn't look too fragile, sound quality is decent and it has worked out great.
You honestly get what you paid for, useless junk. There's a perfect reason why these headphones are only worth a mere buck, plus shipping and handling. The sound quality is the worse I have ever bared to encounter. It's honestly like having a cork lodged in your ear and someone's talking you through a straw through that. The sound quality is absolutely horrible. The headphones themselves are horrible as well. First off, they don't fit in your ear unless you apply a good amount of force to push it in your ear. Second, the cord has this horrible design style of having one specific headphone extended almost double from the next. It completely minimizes the length of the headphone when listening it from my iPod in my pants.
