Adapter For Cell Phone - adapter for cell phone, macbook pro

I have a Plantronics headset that has two plugs, one for headphones and one for microphone. My Lenovo thinkpad W510 has a jack that supports headphones with microphone. This adapter plugs into that fancy jack, and my headphone plugs connect to the adapter, resulting in a usable headset without having to use the USB adapter that came with the headset, that lacks linux drivers. The only improvement that I can think of is a 90-degree plug, so the wire isn't in the way of my mouse on the right side of the computer. I've just switched laptops from a Dell XPS to a Macbook Pro, and, lo and behold, the MacBook only has a single socket for audio, rather than the two of the Dell. So my headphones plus mic won't work since it has two jacks, one for output and the other for input. This adapter solves the problem: two female sockets (colored appropriately) merging into one jack. Plugging in the headset to the adapter and the adapter into the MacBook works just fine. You hear in stereo (just listened to one of those mid-60s funky mixes from the Beatles where John or Paul will sing into your right ear) and the mic works perfectly for recording, Skype, and the like.

Looks well made, etc; no quibbles.

Product is what it is. It has quality snap in design to make sure connection are snug and tight. Works the way i want to. Music, incoming ringtone, and calls all come through headset when it is connected to my Droid X. Price is higher then I wouldve liked, because I also need to buy another one for 2.5mm jacks, which is another $15 dollars...

Overall good quality, and does what it needs to do. Satisfied customer and will buy the 2.5mm adapter for hooking my headset into portable phone and older cell phones.

Confirming that the Droid / Droid 2 seems to have a 4 conductor 3.5mm port, since we can clearly hear stereo music, and the microphone connection sounds fine on calls. Technically this is a TRRS (Tip Ring Ring Sleeve), so the four conductors carry Left and Right stereo audio, the microphone signal, and the 4th conductor is for common/ground.

Taking off 1 star (4 instead of 5) because I think $15 is a bit high for a passive adapter, though it does the job and seems well made. Annoyingly neither Verizon nor Radio Shack carry any four conductor adapters.

I have a comfy noise cancelling PC headset because I'm always using Skype for my business. Because I'm on the phone all the time now, I wanted to use my computer headset with my new samsung smartphone. Instead of blowing another $100 on a headset, I bought this great little adapter. It saved me a ton of money and works perfect. Because it's a dual use adapter, not only does with work with my smartphone, but it also works with my home phone that has a 2.5mm plug. There is no reduction in sound quality and everyone can hear me perfectly. This thing saved my life!

I bought to use with my PC333D Sennheiser headset, that I used to listen music in my Windows 7 PC.

Now, with the adapter it works great in my iPhone 4 and in my MacBook Air. Without loss of quality. Perfect. I ordered an other one and a PC 151 Sennheiser to my brother-in-low that used to talk with us by Skype or JustVoip.

A very good choose.

I have been conducting conference calls using my Blackberry for the past few months. Sitting on long calls with a mobile phone is no fun! I first tried headsets and bluetooth devices but found them to be less than dependable. This device allows me to hook my smart phone up to a set of computer speakers and computer microphone. My confernce calls are now crystal clear and I can type freely while talking and listening.

Purchased a nice set of PC headphones that I wanted to use with my Blackberry for those looooong business calls and my iphone4 for those looooong personal calls. This adapter fits each fine and delivers superior sound for each device (not simultaneously). I can sit back and have a clear, handsfree conversation.

I bought this item to connect my Sennheiser PC 350 headphones to my iPad, primarily for voice-only Skype. It was reasonably priced, arrived quickly and worked as advertised. Both the headphones and the integrated mic work great. Although the description doesn't specifically say it works with the iPad, as expected, it works fine. I have been using the Headset Buddy for over a month now without issue. - Mac - Macbook Pro - Adapter For Cell Phone - Adapter'
