File Transfer - transfer cable, file transfer

I almost got ripped off by Geek Squad if not for this product, it does just like it says easy. I just followed the instructions and transferred everything to my new computer pictures and all. I was able to customize what I wanted transferred and delete what I did not want. Great product can't say it enough. Cables Unlimited Easy Transfer Cable 6' for Windows 7, Vista and XP

I purchased the Cables Unlimited Easy transfer Cable to transfers files from a laptop that was running Windows Vista, to a new laptop running Windows 7. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the total set up time was not very long. It was worth the purchase, instead of having to have a computer company or the computer department of one of the retail stores to do this for me. I would highly recommend this product.

This cable set was what I have wanted for years. It allowed me to smoothly transfer many kinds of files from an old computer to a new one. Howver, the instructions were extremely lacking, so it was unreasonably hard to activate the program and make the data transfers after loading the supplied system disk.

I bought this cable to transfer the files from my old computer (Windows XP) to my new one (Windows 7). It came with a disk and basic instructions. The hardest part was figuring out which XP system I had. Just try one of the versions on the disk- if it works, then it is meant for your system. In one hour and 20 minutes, my new computer was set up and ready to go.

Good product- good price!

And a waste of money as the cable is ONLY good to transfer things from one PC to another in one go. It doesn't let you transfer selected files (i.e. only music, some movies, selected images)

Only good for one thing then!

No issues with the functionality of this product whatsoever, works fantastic!!! However, the directions need to be written out in a more comprehensive way for those of us who are not "computer savvy".

It took me an afternoon to understand the directions and how to get to the point to begin my transfer, once understood, however, it was lickety split! Files transferred!

I have made notes right in the instruction booklet in the event that I ever need to use it again to CLARIFY the steps needed to take.

I already had a transfer cable that I purchased at Radio-shack some years ago. Figured it didn't work with windows 7 due to driver issue (age.) My situation may have been different in that I wanted to transfer files from my old windows 7 machine to my new Windows 7 machine. Shouldn't make any difference. If there is an issue with the same circumstances as mine the manufacturer should have stated so. Long story short Windows easy transfer never did detect the cable although the drivers installed on the old machine. Bottom line "It did not perform as advertised."
