There's a big shift under way in the electronic gadget market from miniUSB connectors to microUSB.
Why can't they just leave things alone?
In any event, I have a bunch of moderately costly USB to miniUSB retractable cables along with a much larger bunch of ordinary USB-to-miniUSB cables and AC adapters.
I'm not about to consign all of them to the trash, so I bought a couple of these miniUSB to microUSB adapters.
I bought these, in particular, because they have a lanyard that serves to attach them, for example, to my retractable cable so the adapter is not only handy, but I now have a dual-connector arrangement.
These cables, for whatever it matters, are Motorola branded.
They're well made, feel durable and, most important, work on everything I've tried them with (four devices in all) for both power and data.

bought three - they work great for everything I use. Kindle3, LG phones, Blackberry. Made my older mini usb chargers useful again. Note - even though the charger is older, I still need an original blackberry charger for a newer blackberry phone because of the higher power requirements. Three units was the cutoff before shipping went up - shipping was more than the devices, but still a great deal. These appear to be original motorola.
Bought 2 of these and they work perfectly with my car chargers. They snap on very tight, you can feel it "click" into place and its a very solid connection, no wiggle or play at all.
Use the loop to keep it attached to the end of the charger cord and you will never be without it.
Has worked perfect on an HTC Incredible, MOTO RAZR, BB Curve, MOTO bluetooth and Jabra Bluetooth, which is a combination of mini and micro ports.
Have not tested it on anything else so far.
I am so happy I don't need 2 chargers in each car anymore.
Only wish I had bought one more for my home charger.
