Marvel Comics - spider-man, avengers
A lot of fun. Quick reading, full of great art. But there are some puzzling things... and "Things" is one of them! No "THING" here! The other three members of the Fantastic Four are here, but of all of them The Thing has participated most in the Avengers... and he's the one missing.
And not to argue over "powers" like a school boy, but Hawkeye's fightng skills are listed at 7. That put's him in the Captain America, Wolverine, Shang Chi area. A better fighter than Iron Fist, Black Panther... and more. Really?
But again, a fun read. Good for new and old readers. Marvel Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide
Marvel Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide was something I got as an early christmas gift. I thought that I wouldn't really look at it because of the fact that I'm starting to grow out of comic books, but wow was this fun. This book basically gives you an introduction to many characters of the Marvel Universe and is a pretty cool read. I recommend it to anyone who needs to catch up on the Marvel Comics Universe.
While this may not be the absolute all inclusive character guide that some people may be looking for, it's great for people who aren't that into comics or have kids that are just starting to get into it. My son knows and loves all the main heroes like Iron Man and Wolverine, and this book lets him read about them while exposing him to a whole bunch of other characters that he or I have never even heard of. Its a lot of fun just flipping through the pages and reading about random heroes and villains. It's basically one page per hero or villain, with some pictures and descriptions of their powers and history of the character. Again, it may not be as detailed as some who are more into this would like it to be, it's great for us new to this or with kids.
This neat little guide has hundreds of marvel characters that have been associated in the Avenger's world. Not only does it cover the normal bios and how the heroes came to be but it also has stat graphs for each character. Beautiful art work and loads of information this book is a smart buy.
I purchased this book for my kids to give their dad on father's day as they have been playing "super heroes" together lately. The hardcover book is colorfully illustrated with one character per page, so there's not a lot of detail, but enough to give you a quick introduction to the characters. The great color and illustrations are what make this book. Even my husband said it was cool!

I picked up this book because I needed more purchases to get free shipping on another product I bought, and it was worth it. I am into comics, especially Marvel, and this is a great quick reference for anything Avengers. If you want deeper insight to characters, go to the Marvel website, but if you are just looking for an entertaining "coffee table" type book, this is the one for you.
I purchased this book for kicks being a Marvel comics fan and was let down by the fact that they left out some fairly popular villains. How could you forget Modok??? Seriously?
Aside from that, the book is in full color and pretty cool if you are curious about the Avengers, especially with the Avengers movie coming in 2012.
i originally bought this for my nephews ages 10 & 8 since they love to on google and type in their favorite supero hero/villains and read about them and learn about new characters, but when i recieved this darn book and i am the one constantly reading LOL...so this is a great book , well written, the artistry is well put together also...ok ok i will give this to them finally...
