Indestructible Dog Toy - holy roller, ball

Our dog is a power chewer. She's medium sized with big dog chewpower!

She loves this ball - we have the blue one. It is perfect for making her really work to get to her Stella and Chewy's freeze dried steaks. We break them in half, stretch open one of the openings and put the treats inside. She has a ball rolling, chasing and bouncing this thing around. Keeps her interested and active for about 15 minutes as she figures a way to get to the treats inside. She loves a good puzzle!

While she does stand on this collapsible ball, and chews on it, she has not damaged it- and that's a relief, since she IS a power chewer. JW Pet Company Hol-ee Roller Dog Toy, 5-Inches (Colors Vary)

Unless you plan on supervising your dog 100% of the time when they play with this toy be careful. My terrier ripped through part of it got an obstructed intestine, stopped eating and drinking and had to go into emergency surgery yesterday. So $1600 later she is recovering. Hopefully she makes a full recovery. Just trying to prevent someone else from going through the same stuff I went through.

We have a 9 month old border collie, only about 40 pounds. He is NOT a big chewer. I gave him this ball last night; he didn't appear to like it much at first. It has a very strong rubber odor. I watched him closely and he finally picked up the ball after over an hour, and finally seemed to like it when he saw how easy it was to pick up. In less than 10 minutes there were 3 tears in the ball. All he did was run around, throw it up in the air, and bounce it a few times, and it was broken. NO CHEWING. I felt like I really threw my money away on this one.

My dog is a mix, border collie, golden retriever, maybe german shepherd. Within 10 minutes, he had this toy torn apart. Other rubber toys are still going strong but not this one. If your dog is ANY type of chewer, not just a hard chewer, this is not the toy for you UNLESS you are going to supervise play time with it the ENTIRE time.

With 2 dachshunds ruling our home and many canine houseguests (more dachshunds, shelties, beagles, Lab/Shepard mixes, a Newfoundland, Rottweiler, etc.), these toys have been loved and chewed on by all who enter our home on four paws. We have had several Holee Rollers and all but three have gone home with our canine houseguests because they fall in love with them too.

Only one of them, after 6+ years is starting to show some wear and tear but this may be caused by our dachsies playing tug with it between the two of them. These are made out of the the only type of rubber (100% natural rubber) that our dogs can't destroy in minutes as they will tear off the covers of tennis balls and chew solid man-made rubber toys into bits.

Because the Holee Rollers are bouncy and flexible, they won't make a loud noise if they hit a wall/cabinet or cause damage the way a harder ball (i.e. tennis ball, solid rubber) might. It's flexible and can be squashed down so the dog can more easily grab and hold on to it when playing a fast round of fetch. If you have a dog that loves to play fetch but destroys toys, try one of these. These are great for outdoor use and fly quite a distance with a fair throw.

Tip: when you give it to your dog for the first time, immediately play fetch or tug with it rather than just drop it in front of them so they know what to do with it from the start.

My chow/lab mix loves this toy. It's great because you can throw it and the ball will bounce and roll, or you can play tug-o-war with it. Both you and your dog have an easy way to grip it. She doesn't have as great a time playing with it by herself as she would a toy with a squeaker, but she will put it between her paws and tug on it for a few minutes. My dog and I have played with this toy for a few months now and I haven't seen any signs of wear on it. For any other toy, she would have chewed it to pieces in about 5 minutes.

My dogs (standard poodles) LOVE this ball. They play fetch and tug-o-war with it. It's a really good product, but my dogs are very aggressive with it when they play tug-o-war with each other. It is breaking apart after only a few weeks of play. It is not a problem with the product itself - it is because my dogs are so rough when playing with the ball. I got the 5-inch size. I might try the larger size to see if it is a little more sturdy.

I have had this toy for my two boxers for at least 4 years. EXACT SAME TOY, and still in great shape. They tug and chew on it all the time, and it has been one of very few toys to hold up. They prefer this toy best when I purchase those little tennis balls that squeek (they fit in the palm of your hand), and I have to stretch one of the openings and shove the tennis ball inside. They have never been able to get the tennis ball out, but they love, love, love trying. They do manage to tear the tennis ball inside up, and I just replace that.

As with any toy, keep an eye on them till your sure its one that will hold up against your dogs intellect and persistence, but i HIGHLY recommend this for tough chewers and tuggers. - Dog Puzzle - Ball - Holy Roller - Chew Toy'
